Dr. Ima Islam is the Head of Medical Content at Shohay Health. She teaches undergraduate medical students at the University of Cambridge as a Clinical Supervisor and serves as a Clinical Fellow at the Royal Papworth Hospital, UK’s main heart and lung transplant centre. She is a licensed physician both in Bangladesh and the United Kingdom. She completed her foundation training at Dhaka Medical College, the largest public hospital in Bangladesh.
Dr. Islam has extensive experience in creating evidence-based medical content. So far, her content has been read more than half a million times and is being used by national and international organisations to train community healthcare workers in low-resource settings.
Prior to joining Shohay Health, Dr. Islam led a team at Aroggo, a healthcare crowdfunding initiative, to fund the life-saving care of more than 125 patients. She co-founded Dhaka Medical College Internal Medicine Interest Group, the first American College of Physicians (ACP) recognized student body operating in Bangladesh to improve the knowledge of internal medicine among medical students.
